1. Sunsure®Sunsure® mesh fabric is a PVC vinyl encapsulated tight polyester mesh material that allows very little light through but does allow water through - so it won't puddle, has less windage, and is less hard on your fixings. It is ideal for just about any application that needs high tensile strength and breathability. Sunsure® is probably the most practical fabric for Shade Sails in the UK, where unpredictable and varied weather mean these will often have to cope with less than ideal conditions! Valmex® PVC by MehlerWe offer a range of 7 colours in Mehler's excellent High Quality VALMEX® PVC. This 550g per sq m PVC is a waterproof fabric and is extremely practical in that it is very easy to clean, is UV stable (i.e. very resistant to fading) and has been FR tested to NFP 92507: M2. So, the PVC is an option that is ideally suited to long periods of outdoor exposure, where a 'water resistant' shelter is required. (However, it MUST be positioned and tensioned for water to easily run-off, with a minimum angle of 20 degrees). Solacryl™Solacryl™ is an uncoated woven Acrylic fabric which is very durable, UV resistant and colourfast, and is thus ideally suited to long periods of outdoor exposure. This fabric is most frequently seen in continental style outdoor shades and marine cover applications. Yacht SailclothGenuine Polyester woven Sailcloth is very durable and used and tested in Ocean conditions in yacht sails - this is a material we have great deal of experience with. It is hard wearing and water resistant (so it MUST be positioned and tensioned for water to run-off, with a minimum angle of 20 degrees). However, it is not UV stabilised and therefore permanent exposure to UV will dramatically shorten it's useable lifespan. For the ultimate contemporary 'Marine' feel this is a great option, but it won't last quite as long when left outside. SHADE FACTOR 4/5 WATER RESISTANCE 4/5 STRENGTH (DIMENSIONAL STABILITY) 5/5 EASE OF CLEANING 2/5 UV RESISTANCE 2/5 Colours: Sailcloth Shade Sails are only available in White. 5. Other optionsWe are able to supply fabrics for indoor use, however you must ensure that any Shade Sails placed indoors meet the statutory Building regulations and Fire Officers' requirements for 'Fire Retardancy'. Both the Sunsure® and VALMEX® are tested for FR, however, we are also able to source a number of other suitable FR fabrics for such purposes upon demand. Please note there is usually an additional cost. Accordingly, please contact us for details and availablity. |
